Recording of a 28 inch subatomic gong where the sound reverberates in a 22 foot by 11 foot room (same ratio as the kings chamber in the great pyramid). Time between gong hits are allowed to let the sound resonate through the room.

Tabla is percussion instrument with two drums 'daya' and 'baya'. Only the 'daya' drum is usually tuned. For checking the tuning the 'na' bol is played. Recorded using samson-go portable condenser mike at home. Placing the mike too close to tabla was clipping the sound and if placed away, it was not picking the extended resonance. Hence the mike was moved closer after attack, hence the apparent increase in amplitude and some doppler effect is seen.

Recording of myself playing a home-made instrument constructed from a large suspended metal door affixed with bits of thin aluminum sheeting of varying sizes and bent at varying angles. I "played" this by striking and plucking the bits of aluminum and recording the results through a piezo contact mic adhered to the door.

These sounds were created with free stomper drumsynth. I tried to emulate the famous simmons sdsv drumsynth, but it is definetely not an emulation, but something similar. Made a quick drum loops designed to have guitar, vocals, any mid range instrument or sound source sit nicely with it. First 2 measures are less/intro-like, last 2 measures are full beat. 120bpm-1. 7 db true peak max. -16. 0 lufs integrated. Hope this helps and is useful for your next project. Cheers,bainmack.
